Falling Into Some Tips
Hey šš¾ Hope all is well in your world. July came and went at a surprising rate. Parents are gearing up to send the kids back to school. Itās wild to conceive that just a few moments ago we were celebrating the beginning of summer. I find myself shifting gears heavily in the transition between seasons and next up is fall. The main purpose of this particular post is to share a few tips that helped me with my health journey amongst the commotions of life.
Ā Ā The nutrition part of any health program accounts for 70-80 percent of results. I am a creature of habit and my grocery list has only switched up slightly over the past few years. As my health journey intensifies, I alter meals for the better, and simplify ingredients as I can. Those practices have helped me to maintain a somewhat normal lifestyle and a healthier relationship with food. I find that the best tip Iāve taken away from every trainer, workout guru, instagram page, etc is that dieting is harmful and impossible to maintain long term. They were completely right. Did I see results from a diet? Of course! I use them to jumpstart dropping a few pounds quickly for a short amount of time. The hard part is always taking the restrictions with you on vacations, to a family function, in the grocery store when the money isnāt the same, etc. You get my drift.. Diets are really hard to deal with amongst life at times. I have been working on lifestyle changes over the years. My weight fluctuates in real life and I find myself fighting off the same 20-50 pounds. It gets harder as I get older for sure, and I learn more about my body and what works for me. Below is my shopping list of years and a few tips. I make lots of meals from this list and have tweaked it as needed in terms of fruits and vegetables as the seasons change.

Routines keep me grounded with this journey of mine and the grace has to be given to me, by me. Balance keeps things easier on me mentally, amongst the commotion of lifeās daily trials. I go out and actually enjoy dinners with my friends without counting calories. I do not beat myself up too bad about sleeping in on mornings that Iām too tired to workout. I try to go a little harder on the run scheduled the next day. I start my mornings with tea, water, and fruits. A heavy breakfast is an anomaly for me and I habitually end my food intake between 8:30pm-9:00pm. I donāt keep too many snacks in my house, so when I am out occasionally I may indulge without guilt. Most things I have to consume is either premade in the form of meal preps or must be cooked with great effort. I have to work for cheat meals heavily. One of my favorite changes made is my denial of a bad to go plate š„². Itās so hard to turn one down, but it must be done to support a healthy journey. It makes me enjoy all my meals in the moment if they are super bad; because Iām gonā eat it, Iām just not gonna take it home to do it again š .
I make sure to stay hydrated. Thatās not a cliche or something people say for giggles. When I drink at least a quart of water a day I generally feel overall better and it really has always just helped with the journey in a positve way. Nothing bad should come from adding more water into your daily life. I walked into a Dollar Tree and walked out with a cute bottle that has helped motivate me drink a bit more pictured below.
Currently Iām not doing a specific challenge but I am forever focusing on a program that has me moving at least 4-5 times a week. My personal life is venturing into some major unfamiliar territory and I like to set myself up for success, Iām sharing this because I hope that this resonates with someone else. We have to keep things realistic so that we donāt fail. Fall is upon us and Iām an educator, so Iāll be going from all the free time in a day to a full workday. I have also added the title and responsibilities of student, as Iām now going be attending school to complete my bachelorās degree. I wouldnāt set myself up with a very strict challenge this month as I try to figure out how to finesse this new load. My food doesnāt really fluctuate much and to hit my weekly goal always seems achievable with a doggy demanding to walk daily. Facebook gave me a nice reminder of my journey and I want to share the visual with you below.
I try to keep everything as easy going as possible, even down to the workouts. I rotate between HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) with and without weights currently for 20-30 minutes after a 15-20 minute run. Iāll share my favorite visual below from Nicci Robinson and her whole page because she is amazing and Iāve seen great results following her videos.
Keeping things convient to my lifestyle is key. It took a long time to get to this point and its been very beneficial. I spent the last month continuing my creative endeavors and interacting with kids in the community by turning a couple of my art pieces into coloring sheets, this instance thru an event called Cuts for the Community.
Right before I settled on in to begin typing this out, I had the pleasure of bringing the paintings that were not sold home from the gallery in which they have been hanging for the past 7 months. Iām very grateful to the owners of Parc Village. This fall the paintings get to stay with me for a few weeks for touch ups as an art show viewing is in the works. I didnt get the luxury of simply basking in them once they were completed and I really look forward to that because they really helped me get though the most delicate part of grieving the loss of my mom.
I speak about it a little in a previous post :
Welcome to the first Monday of August. Thanks for taking the time to read over what is going on with me and a few tips that help with the commotion of my universe. I hope that you and your village are more than prepared for the upcoming changes in season and that I was able to share something that may assist. Peace and love until next time!š
